Follow up Appointments

Mac has kept us running around lately :) He followed up with our pediatrician last week. He weighed in at 10 lbs 14 oz, so not a spectacular gain. However, he has a good excuse! So, we're working on plumping him up a bit more. The pediatrician chatted with our neurologist about somethings we have been seeing Mac do lately, and so we are headed for an EEG next week. He's had one before, but it was when he was still a little 3 pounder in the NICU. He still takes seizure medication, and is maxed out on his dose for now.

He had a CT scan on Monday, and yesterday we saw Dr. Gruber to follow up on that, and have his 2 week post-discharge check up. He said that the scan showed that the cyst in his right temporal horn had gotten bigger, and that the left side had gotten smaller. So, he reprogrammed the shunt that drains the temporal horn in hopes that this will level things out. It isn't surprising that he's been having a few bumps a long the way with the way his right side looks, apparently, so I'm hoping that the EEG won't show anything, as by then it will have been about a week since he was reprogrammed. Mac will have another scan in two weeks and we'll follow up again with Gruber after that to see how things are looking then.

He's still doing great at home! Hes had some fussy days, but that's okay :) The older kids have colds making the rounds, so I'm hoping we can keep him from that. We've been staying plenty busy with all the usual, so the days have been flying by. Quincy is playing soccer, Jack is doing Cub Scouts, and they both have swimming lessons....and Tucker and Miles are great sports about watching their siblings do all these things :)
