More of the Same!

Well, big surprise. Mac's scan this morning showed that the right side (with the programmable shunt) had overdrained, and that the left side was still way too big. Shocking information?! Not so much anymore :) So, the on call neurosurgeon reprogrammed the right side, and we'll hope for the best! They will rescan Monday morning, and we'll go from there. His eyes are still really crazy, and that is more than likely just from the increased pressure on the left hand side. Hopefully it will go away and not have done any permanent damage by the time we get him leveled out.

He's really just doing a whole lot of nothing there in the PICU. Vital-wise, he's very stable, but he has to stay in the PICU to be monitored because of how quickly things can change. In the stepdown unit (complete with your own fridge, microwave, shower, bed and desk), they don't monitor them as carefully or check on them as frequently, so he would just kind of be left to his own devices over there. He'd be a lonely little bugger when we weren't around. Today when I got to his room, his bed was empty and monitor screen was blank....I found him out at the nursing station, just working on the payroll with the charge nurse :) He knew his favorite ladies needed to get paid on time.

Until next time....
