Baby Shunt Bump

For those who are interested, here's some pictures of his shunt. Miles thinks his name is "Shunt Bump" and is constantly trying to touch it. Which could prove to be unfortunate, as there's a small button that helps control the flow of cerebral spinal fluid in and out of the ventricles. It kind of surprised me the first time the neurosurgeon pushed on it :)
The first is the part on his belly. The first time they did the surgery he didn't have to have stitches here, but since this was the 2nd in such a short period of time, he needed a few to keep it closed.




Mac had his appointment with the pediatrician today, the poor soul. He was the lucky recipient of me unloading my frustrations with our less than stellar experience at the hospital this time. He's a patient man. Mac weighed in at 6 lb, 11.5 oz! A small gain, but a gain nonetheless. Hopefully he'll pick back up again now that we're home.
