More Good Scans

Well, its been a busy week for the Macman. We saw Dr. Gruber (neurosurgeon) on Monday, and he was happy with how he looked :) He did order a "peace of mind" scan, as his fontanelle has changed greatly in the last couple of weeks. He said his gut feeling was that everything was going to be fine, and it was! We are so grateful. We got copies of his scans on disk this time, and the following is one of the images from it. I thought it was really cool to get such a good view of his shunts...we can kind of imagine what they look like based on how they feel, but it was neat to actually "see" them! The bigger one is his programmable shunt, the smaller one is the fixed pressure.

He had a weight check at the pediatrician on Tuesday, and that didn't go so well. He is weighing in at 12 pounds, 5.5 ounces....no longer on the charts even for a 5 month old (his adjusted age) :) So, we are back to adding extra calories to his food. So far, I'm not sure that its helping, as he's actually taking less volume now that we're fortifying. So, we'll see how he weighs in next time and will go from there!

He also had a therapy appointment this week, and that went great! It was the first time he'd seen the actual Physical Therapist for awhile, and she could tell a huge difference :) We have a lot of work to do, and probably always will, but it is nice to hear that she can tell he's making progress.

In other news....it's snowing here! The kids are so excited about it. And we'll have plenty of time to enjoy it (if it sticks around long enough!) as the kids don't have school at all next week.

I hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
