Home and all is well

Mac and I came home after two nights in the hospital, and everything is going great! He slept pretty much all day yesterday, but he really didn't sleep at all while we were in the hospital, so he's just making up for lost time, I think! We will go in to the pediatrician on Wednesday, and he also has first outpatient appointment with a neurologist on that day as well. Friday he will get his stitches out, and then we should be back to normal again! Problems with shunts are the most common during the first 6 weeks after surgery, so we'll be keeping a close eye on him still, especially now that there's twice as much shunt to go awry. However, so far so good! He is looking and acting great.

I've said it before, but babies are the toughest creatures on the planet. Any adult who had been through in so much in such a short period of time would be laid flat and in misery. Mac, on the other hand, just goes right back to normal as soon we quit messing with him. Absolutely amazing. At one point in the hospital, they were trying to restart the IV that he had kicked out. Six tries later, and they still couldn't get one. You would think we would all be in tears by that point, however, Mac hardly even flinched. We're so proud of what a tough guy he is.
